Lyla Novacek (Keri Russell) is a brilliant young cellist who has just finish performing a concert in New York City. She meets Louis Connelly (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), a charismatic Irish guitar player, at a party. It's a case of mutual love at first sight as they bond over their shared love of music. It's the most wonderful night in Lyla's life but she must rush back to the hotel where her father, Thomas (William Sadler), is waiting for her.
